Don’t use a comma to separate paired nouns

Don’t use a comma to separate paired nouns joined by co-ordinating conjunctions.

  • Gary dreamt of being either a footballer, or an English teacher.
    (paired nouns/a footballer + an English teacher)
    Gary dreamt of being either a footballer or an English teacher.
