Ill and sick are both adjectives that mean not in good health. They are both used after linking verbs such as: be, become, feel, look. Sick, but not ill, is used before a noun.
- I felt ill all last week.
- I felt sick all last week.
I have been looking after my ill dog.- I have been looking after my sick dog.
