Every one talks about each person or thing in a group, It thinks about the group as lots of different people or things. It can talk about people or about things, and it’s always used with a singular verb.

- I failed every one of the exams.
(There were many different exams, and I failed them all.) - She has sent a letter to every one of her friends.
