Hyphens

Hyphens (-) have two uses.

They are used to form compound words:

• She has a two-seater scooter.
• I met my mother-in-law yesterday.

They are used after the prefix of a word:

• I have no self-confidence.
• Don’t over-promise on what you can’t do.
