A split infinitive is when a verb in its infinitive form has a word between the to and the verb.
- Alice needed to quickly leave.
(to – word/quickly – leave) - He promised to never lie again.
(to – word/never – lie)
Split infinitives are not wrong, but sometimes they don’t sound good.
