Reflexive Pronouns

A reflexive pronoun is used when something does something to itself. The reflexive pronouns are:

  • myself
  • yourself
  • herself
  • himself
  • itself
  • ourselves
  • yourselves
  • themselves

As in these examples:

  • Alice drove herself to the airport.
(Alice drove Alice to the airport.)
  • The members talked amongst themselves for an hour.
(The members talked with the members.)

You use a reflexive pronoun, so you do not have to repeat the subject.
