Causative Verbs

A causative verb causes things to happen. The subject does not perform the action but indirectly causes it. Examples include such as make, get and have.

  • She made me go to school.
    (subject/she – cause/made me go to school.)
  • I need to get my washing machine repaired.
    (subject/I – cause/repair the washing machine.)
  • I am having my hair cut tomorrow.
