Present simple or present continuous for things that happen all the time?

We use the present simple for things that happen all the time. We use the present continuous to talk about things that are not regular or are happening now.

  • Every Tuesday I play football, but this Tuesday I am going swimming.
    (present simple/regular/play football – present continuous/not regular/am going swimming)
  • I usually go to school by bus, but today I am walking.
    (present simple/regular/go by bus – present continuous/happening now/am walking)
