A determiner is a word, or group of words, placed in front of a noun to specify quantity or to clarify what the noun refers to. All determiners are one of the following:
- An article: a, an, the
- A demonstrative: this, that, these, those
- A possessive: my, your, his, her, its, our, their
- A quantifier such as: many, much, more, most, some
