Order of Adjectives

There is a correct order of adjectives in sentences.

A cat is using the correct order of adjectives to describe something.

Honest. It was huge, long, young, grey and furry. It had evil big, blue eyes with long, sharp, white teeth that could take your tail off with one bit. And a long and leathery tail like a whip.

1. Articles – a, an, the
2. Opinion – interesting, boring
3. Size – big, small, tiny
4. Shape – triangular, square
5. Age – old, modern, young
6. Colour – blue, black, red
7. Where from – Indian, Spanish, Russian, Chinese
8. Material – plastic, wooden, paper
9. Noun – eyes, bag, story, book, painting

• Big blue eyes.
• A small black plastic bag.
• An old Indian story
• An interesting Chinese painting.
