Saying and writing dates

What we say and what we write are different.

  • 16th April 2006.
    (We write.)
    The 16th of April 2000 and 6.
    (We say.)
  • The attack took place on 10th January 2013.
    (We write.)
The attack took place on the 10th of January 2000 and 13.
    (We say.)

Dates before 2000 are said differently.

  • 16th April 1975.
    (We write.)
  • The 16th of April 19 75.
    (We say.)
  • 1066
    10 66
  • 1809
    18 oh 9

Also, date first, then month, then year. It is logical and clear.
