The with countries and cities

Don’t put the before the names of countries and cities.

  • I was born in the Liverpool, but now I live in the London.
    I was born in Liverpool, but now I live in London.

If the name of the country uses normal words then use the before it.

  • the United Kingdom.
    (united and kingdom are normal words)
